Legendary Russian lure “mormyshka” is designed for ice fishing and spinning.
It is intended mainly for vertical fishing, but can also be used for casting. The mormyshka imitates a crustacean or a small fish that has seized prey and is trying to overpower it, triggering a feeding response and an aggressive strike.
Soft baits (micro shads, nymphs, worms or their parts, synthetic fibers, pieces of foam etc.) can be rigged on the mormyshka, as well as dough baits or maggots.
The bug-like shape ensures a slow sink rate and side-to-side movement.
