About the hotel

Hotel Kendov dvorec, a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux Hotel Association, has its roots in 1377 when the first landowners were already running a farm situated above the Idrijca Valley. Today, the magnificent former Kenda mansion has been beautifully renovated and revived to evoke the spirit of ancient times, and now it displays the rich tradition of its local surroundings with great pride and respect. Hotel Kendov dvorec is proudly rising above 800 years old village of Spodnja Idrija and is located on the right bank of the River Idrijca, overlooking the beautiful ancient parish church "Marija na Skalci" dating back to 1156.

Its peaceful secluded location, amidst hundred-year-old apple trees and beautiful well-maintained gardens, offers a magnificent view on the historical city centre and surrounding hills.

Hotel Kendov dvorec offers 11 luxorious rooms, nicely decorated with the original 19th century furniture. All rooms are thoughtfully named after the former members of the Kenda family and decorated with elements and details originating from the local ethnologic heritage.

Hotel is located in Spodnja Idrija in western Slovenia, within one hour drive from Ljubljana, 100km from Trieste and 230km from Venice. The nearest international airport is the Ljubljana Airport (Brnik). Other airports in the vicinity are: Trieste (Italy), Venice (Italy), Klagenfurt (Austria) and Zagreb (Croatia). You can either rent a car or hotel´s driver can meet you at the airport upon your request.

Direction: Ljubljana - Logatec - Idrija - Spodnja Idrija (54 km).
