One of the indispensable flies imitating maybe all living things in the water. That explains its general use, when we can fish it successfully for all fish starting with trout and grayling and ending with coarse fish. My much favoured pattern.

It is a real bomb, the heaviest fly I know. It is also possible to use it as a sinker-fly. We fish it in deep, rapid streams down to three meters depth, when we tie three Bombs on the ĺeader. Only this arrangement gets down to the bottom in the above mentioned situations. Grayling and trout take even the largest patterns with trust.

A very effective nymph especially on waters with high fishing pressure, e.g. Vltava above and below Lipno and Ohře below Nechranice. Pink Spectra Flash makes this fly irresistible even for experienced and already previously caught fish. Excellent for grayling and rainbows in autumn, although it is in my fly-box also in summer and spring.

A universal fly all the year round, mostly surprising us by its effectivity when fishing for rainbows, who are just crazy about it. It is possible to use it as the point fly as well as both droppers according to weight and size. I recommend it to all who are fishing on Ohře and Vltava.

An excellent summer fly for brown trout. At other times of the year its effectivity is considerably lower. We must fish it above the bottom, because at this time it is covered by a carpet of grass and algae. Therefore I put only little weight on it. Patterns with less weight I use as point flies, the heavier ones as middle droppers.

A fancy imitation of shrimps and sedge larvae. At one time the fly is surprisingly effective, at some other time the fish disregard it. A question might arise, why do I mention it at all. The answer is: it is my best fly for muddy waters, when it is accepted by salmonids as well as coarse fish.

An imitation of sedge larvae effective all the year round. We can fish it for trout and grayling but also roach and other coarse fish with success. It may be put as a stretcher or dropper and sometimes I use two identical flies of different sizes.

One of the universal flies without which – according to my opinion – it is impossible to go fishing. It imitates all the so called indifferent sedge larvae and shrimps – the main food basis of most of the fish. It is also very good for barbels and nase, which are not the classic flyfisher´s fish.
